Comments:One of my few vivid memories is that of picking up Sherin from our flight line his first day with us. He asked me, "so how safe is it"? I replied, "not bad, not bad at all"...a month later, he was gone. Strange how some things stay with you...that piece of conversation took place 34 years ago and I remember it like it was yesterday. May you rest in peace my Canadian brother!

Comments:A few years ago I had the opportunity to visit the Vietman wall. First I searched the book for anyone with the last name Sherin and I came across John C. Sherin. I went to the wall and made a pencil copy of his name. Somehow I felt he was "kin". May he continue to rest in peace.

Comments:I am John C. Sherin III, son of John C. Sherin III. I was four months old when my father was KIA in Vietnam. Though my parents were both Candian, I was born in Ft. Rucker, Alabama, thus becoming a first generation American.

For reasons unknown to me, around the age of five, contact was lost with my fathers family in Canada. I have few photos of my father. One of the few items I have is his American and Canadian Flag burial shroud.

I would love to hear from anyone who knew my father and would enjoy any photos or "stories".

Be safe,
John

Comments:Found this discussion about John quite by accident. He and I were in flight school together and despite not being close, being reminded of his loss brings back memories of shared events.

As always.....my thoughts and prayers go out to his family and loved ones.
